About Us
Biren Law Group is led by Attorney Matthew B.F. Biren, a proven trial lawyer who has dedicated over 40 years of his professional career to fighting for the injured and the wronged. In addition to his work as a personal injury attorney, Matt has been a passionate supporter of the courageous men and women who served and sacrificed for our country, and has personally invested himself in working with various veteran-focused organizations that strive to help veterans as they navigate the many challenges that can accompany assimilation back into civilian life. This includes his continued support of the Military Veterans Appreciation Trust (MVAT) Foundation, family friends who have served in the military and who are actively involved in educating others about the challenges veterans face, and connections with professional experts, physicians, and others involved in numerous events and programs geared toward helping veterans and their families.
Over the years, Matt and our legal team began to notice a link between the work we do as personal injury lawyers and our extra-curricular support of veteran organizations like the Military Veterans Appreciation Trust (MVAT) Foundation. That’s due in large part to the personal connections we create with our clients, and our focus on listening to their stories and how their injuries affected their lives. Soon, we came to realize that clients of ours who previously served in the military – and who often suffered from service-connected issues created by PTSD, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and other conditions – experienced consequences that many civilians did not.
Because the impact civilian accidents had on our military clients was clear and commonly profound, we knew those issues deserved to be addressed in their personal injury cases. As such, we committed ourselves to developing the tools and strategies needed to clearly demonstrate how veterans can experience unique challenges and losses following civilian accidents, and why they should be entitled to a financial recovery of special damages, in addition to other standard damages commonly incurred in preventable accidents (i.e. medical bills, lost income, and pain and suffering). In cases we have handled involving these issues, we have been successful in compelling others to understand the struggles our veteran clients faced, and securing special damages on their behalves.
