Matthew B.F. Biren and Andrew G. O. Biren obtained a $1.5 million settlement for a middle-aged man after a car accident caused a traumatic hip fracture and dislocation as well as injuries to both knees. He was injured while in a Home Depot parking lot crosswalk when the defendant accidentally put his car in reverse rather than drive. Because of these injuries, our client, who was already on permanent disability, needed a hip replacement; in the future, he is likely to need bilateral knee replacements and a hip replacement revision. While the defendant accepted liability for the hip replacement, he argued our client’s knees were already degenerative and arthritic. He also argued that, after the hip replacement, our client’s life would be essentially back to normal.
The Biren Law Group was able to prove the need for continued care and negotiate a settlement to meet our client’s current and future medical needs.
