Matthew B.F. Biren and Andrew G.O. Biren obtained a $2.7 Million settlement for a woman big rig driver involved in a bad collision, who originally suffered a knee injury. When arthroscopic surgery did not help her knee symptoms, the Plaintiff had a total knee replacement, after which she developed Lupus, Tourette Syndrome, and Fibromyalgia. Defendant’s medical experts contended that these post knee replacement issues had no causal relationship to the incident or knee injury. The Biren Law Group maintained that even if the Lupus, Tourette Syndrome or Fibromyalgia could not be reasonably medically related to the knee replacement surgery, the conditions at the very least became significantly worse because of the stress caused by the collision, injuries, and surgeries.
