Matthew Biren, Andrew Biren and Spencer Goldberg obtained a $1.1 million uninsured motorist settlement on behalf of a young man who was seriously injured when a drunk driver crossed lanes on PCH and collided head on with the vehicle he was travelling in at 50 miles per hour. As a result of the collision, the Plaintiff suffered severe facial fractures resulting, a traumatic brain injury and had to have his spleen removed. Originally the defendant insurance company tendered the $100,000 first level of insurance, but refused to the tender the $1 million uninsured umbrella policy because of a gap in coverage they claimed voided the policy. Biren Law Group maintained that the policy was intact and that coverage counsel was misreading it’s own insurance policy. The case ultimately settled for the policy limits right before the lawsuit was going to be filed against the defendant insurance company.
