Joseph Ventura, working construction at a Sheraton Hotel, was driving a scissors lift down an aisle way when it hit a flaw in the concrete floor that caused him to fall 15 feet, injuring his pelvis and legs. The Biren Law Group established that the flaw in the concrete floor was the result of a Styrofoam square put in place to create an outlet for electrical conduits, but had concrete poured over it instead, creating the appearance of a solid floor.
