Biren Law Group is proud to announce that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently urged users to stop using, and dispose of immediately, the FLIKRFIRE tabletop fireplace; a small, portable, tabletop fireplace fueled by isopropyl alcohol.
Both Andrew Biren and Spencer Goldberg of Biren Law Group were instrumental in the United States Government’s investigation and subsequent decision to tell users to immediately stop using and dispose of the product, which is the equivalent of a recall. This also includes similar products made by other brands that are essentially the same design.
Over the last five years, these dangerous products have caused users to be seriously burned and, in some cases, resulted in wrongful death. At Biren Law Group, our attorneys have handled multiple cases for clients who have suffered severe, life-altering burn injuries while using this product and have recovered millions on their behalf. We have also committed to sharing information with firms nationwide who are handling these cases, consistent with our mission to do everything possible to get these dangerous products out of the marketplace.
The Warning from the CPSC
On December 19th, 2024, the CPSC issued a warning to consumers about the dangers of using FLIKRFIRE tabletop fireplaces. These fireplaces, which use alcohol as fuel, have been linked to two deaths and several serious burn injuries. By requiring consumers to pour isopropyl alcohol into the bowl and then ignite the pooled alcohol in the same location, it violates voluntary safety standard ASTM F3363-19.
The CPSC is urging consumers to immediately stop using these fireplaces and dispose of them properly.
According to the product safety warning, the manufacturer, FLIKR LLC, is no longer in business and has not agreed to provide a recall remedy for consumers.
The Dangers of FLIKRFIRE Tabletop Fireplaces
FLIKRFIRE tabletop fireplaces have been found to pose several fire hazards. One of the most serious hazards is flame jetting, which can occur when the fuel in the fireplace ignites unexpectedly. This can cause a large and uncontrollable fire, which can quickly spread to nearby objects and cause serious burns or even death.
Our attorneys have recovered millions in settlements for victims of FLIKRFIRE tabletop fireplace injuries. If you, or a loved one, have been injured due to these dangerous products, call (310) 774-0078 to learn more about your legal options.
What to Do if You Have a FLIKRFIRE Tabletop Fireplace
